Bloom: An Event for New and Expectant Moms in Pittsburgh

Who ::

This event is geared towards Pittsburgh area moms who are currently expecting a baby, had a baby within the last year, foster moms of infants, or moms who are planning on growing their family soon.

What ::

An afternoon of learning, fun, and pampering! Moms will get to listen and ask questions of our expert panel, interact with local businesses and enter to win fun giveaways, have their photo taken by a professional photographer at our bump station with an adorable backdrop, enjoy personal pampering like a mini massage, food and demonstrations, and so much more! It’s your one-stop-shop for all things mom!

Why ::

Whether you’re expecting for the first or third time, have a newborn at home, are waiting for that phone call or paperwork to clear to bring that baby to their forever home, this event is for you. Every guest will leave with an adorable tote bag filled with fantastic swag, enjoy great food, meet and chat with other moms, enter some fabulous giveaways and receive introductions to local experts on topics pertaining to parenting.

** Please Note: Bloom is geared towards new and expecting moms. Children over one year will not be permitted and due to space constraints children under one year old must be worn in a carrier or held as there is no room for strollers at this event.

Dr. Brianne Kemp, Prenatal Chiropractor

Dr. Brianne Kemp is a certified prenatal chiropractor who is best known for her work with expectant mothers and young children. Her passion is to help women feel strong and vibrant while pregnant and to experience a positive birth for both mom and baby. She’s been helping families thrive with chiropractic care for over 10 years. Her patients fondly call her Dr. Brie.  She graduated valedictorian of Palmer College of Chiropractic, is a Presidential Scholar, and is a member of the American Pregnancy Association.  She has completed additional training with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.  Dr. Brie is the author of the blog “Babes and Bellies”.  She has been named Best Chiropractor, Reader’s Choice by Trib Total Media and was featured in the “Women in Business” section of Pittsburgh Magazine. Dr. Brie’s office, Live Well Chiropractic, is located in Wexford, PA., where she works with her husband Dr. Chad Stemmler. They have one child, Dane, and two bulldogs, Captain Pickles and Lady Penelope.

Sara DePierre, Lactation Consultant

Sara DePierre, PA-C is a board certified Physician’s Assistant; she attended Chatham University’s Masters of Science Program in 2010 and worked in Obstetrics and Gynecology for 5 years. In addition, Sara has completed the IBLCE’s Lactation Consultant program.

Sara is a Jefferson Hills native and is excited to be working in the community she knows and loves.

Dr. Joy Drass, Pediatrician

Dr. Joy Drass received her medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and has been in practice for over 15 years.  Dr. Drass served as the Medical Director of Green Meadows Pediatrics Clinic in Columbia, MO before moving to the Pittsburgh area in November of 2014. Dr. Drass spent a year as a staff pediatrician with Children’s Community Pediatrics and then joined Pediatric Alliance Regional Office Division in December of 2015. Dr. Drass has been a Fellow with the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2003 and has been named “Best Doctors in America” 2009 – present.

Todd Wolynn, MD, IBCLC, MMM
 
Dr. Todd Wolynn is CEO and co-owner of Kids Plus Pediatrics — a cutting-edge, proudly independent practice with offices in Seven Fields, Squirrel Hill, and Pleasant Hills. Dr. Wolynn also serves as Chief Executive Director of the nationally renowned Breastfeeding Center of Pittsburgh, and is co-founder and CEO of the National Breastfeeding Center. A fellow of both the American Academy of Pediatrics and of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, Dr. Wolynn is a nationally recognized expert on pediatric sleep, breastfeeding, immunization, practice management, and patient engagement. Through his work with the Breastfeeding Center of Pittsburgh, he serves as the only advisor to the United States Breastfeeding Committee.
 
Dr. Wolynn has been named by Castle Castle Connolly and US News & World Report as one of “America’s Top Doctors” for general pediatrics in the Pittsburgh region each of the past 10 years. In 2016, he won the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia for innovations in health care. Dr. Wolynn lives in Squirrel Hill with his wife, his three children, their dog, and their chickens.

Katie S. Caldwell, Certified Nurse Midwife

Katie Caldwell received her master of science in nursing at the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio specializing in nurse midwifery. She is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board.

Prior to joining the Allegheny Health Midwives, Katie was a nurse midwife at Magee Womancare Associates and a registered nurse at West Penn Hospital in its Labor and Delivery unit. She holds professional memberships with the American College of Nurse Midwives and the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nursing.

    Hi,
    I would love to add samples to your swag bag of doTERRA pure therapeutic grade essential oils. My goal is to empower a healer in every home through education, classes and workshops. I teach about green cleaning and eradicating toxic chemicals from our homes plus using essential oils for health and wellness.

    If it is not too late to add samples to your bag please let me know.
    Also, If you are ever looking for workshops/classesto offer. I am available to teach fun hands on classes.
