Perks of Being a SAHM

Once upon a time, I was blessed with the opportunity to be a stay at home mom to my princess.  From the time she was born to about 10 months old I stayed home with her and it was a blast.  It went way too fast and I’m already trying my best to be a SAHM again, or at least work from home.  Following are 3 perks of being a SAHM to our precious angels.

  1. Endless Love – You don’t ever have to leave the house because of work, which means spending lots of time with your little one.  They grow so fast and it seems they grow even faster if you have to go to work and school.  It may seem hard in the beginning with exhaustion and being under rule of a little person but in the end it’s all worth it.
  2. No Commute – We all love sitting in traffic, right? Nope. Being a stay at home mom means you don’t have the daily ride to and from work.  No construction zones, detours, and crazy drivers.  Of course you take your kids places, but as a stay at home mom you can pick and choose when you want to go.  I find myself missing being able to stay home as I’m sitting on 65 waiting to pass through the Sewickley traffic. LOL!
  3. You’re the boss – Or so we think. 😉 Technically, our babies rule our world but somebody has to manage it. Which is where we come in.  From play dates to dinner and how you want things done, it’s easier when you get to be at home all the time.  It’s really hard to think about tomorrows dinner when you have work, school, and everything else.  I still have so many projects that haven’t been done because I don’t have the time.  Also it’s a lot easier to prep dinner at home than the office.  I’m sure we’ve all forgotten to take the meat out of the freezer once in our lives.

By far, being a stay at home mom was one of the best times in my life. Being able to wake up to cuddles and knowing I don’t have to leave for work was a great feeling.  Unfortunately, like many others, life got real and this mommy had to go back to work. I know that’s the case for many moms, and that’s okay.  I feel like that is the amazing thing about being a mom. Whether it’s from home or at work, you’re still a mom and your love is the same.  What do you love about being a stay at home mom? Comment and share below!
