This time last year, I was 8 months pregnant and counting down the days to having my baby girl. I was washing all her clothes (most of which she didn’t even wear), decorating her room, and dreaming about what she’d look like.
I, of course, also looked very pregnant. A few days before my due date, I was out to eat with my family. A little old woman came up next to me and said, “When are you due?” I replied, “Monday”. She stated, “I thought so!”
I laughed it off because I knew what she said was true! I just went with it, and figured that I’m not trying to hide it anyway!
A good sense of humor is essential in pregnancy and motherhood. I’m sure there are many of us that could write a book on the things we never thought we’d say, like “please don’t lick your cousin’s toes,” or “stop trying to eat the wipes!” When the worst days come, don’t forget to find some laughs.
