Spring Break and Summer Camps at Sunburst are week-long celebrations of music, art and performance! We offer camps for young musicians ages 4-14 of all experience levels. Each camp focuses on a different theme or project to help get kids thinking creatively. This year, campers will create a playlist of original electronic music, build a robot orchestra to play their compositions, write and perform a rock opera, set up a DIY punk tour, and write and record an album from scratch. Also, each of our camps culminates with a performance on-stage at Sunburst for friends and family!

Shady Side Academy offers a wide variety of fun, flexible, affordable summer programs for kids from any school entering grades PK-12. Most programs take place on our 130-acre Senior School campus in Fox Chapel, while some camps are offered on our 35-acre Middle School campus in Fox Chapel and our seven-acre Junior School campus in Point Breeze. Blue Ribbon Farms, Inc. is a beautiful farm located just 10 minutes from the Pittsburgh airport area.
Imagine your child bottle feeding a new born calf, riding a pony, holding a bunny or how about feeding and caring for lambs, goats, chicks or baby pigs. Or learning to cultivate an expansive garden. Let your child be entertained, educated and amazed by the everyday wonders of the farm. They will learn how fruits and vegetables are grown. Camp Cranberry is a very unique summer camp program that includes five fun and distinctive offerings. Mini Movers is for ages 3-4, Pee Wee Camp is for ages 5-6, Adventure Plus and Sports Camp are for campers ages 6-12, and the Counselor in Training program is for ages 13-15. Full and half day programs with early drop-off and late pickup options available, and full-day campers have the fun opportunity to enjoy their afternoons at the newly upgraded Cranberry Township Waterpark. Unique imaginative themes are changed weekly – as themes shape the crafts, activities, special events and field trips which are designed to provide age-appropriate opportunities to improve motor, social and technical skills. Camper safety is our top priority, as all camp counselors are trained in CPR, AED, First Aid, and Epi-Pen use, while all lifeguards are certified. A meal plan is available for a nutritious daily lunch or children are welcome to bring their own lunches. It’s truly a blast of summer fun!

Investigate careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. Campers will step into the shoes of video game creators, astronomers, scientists, and robotic engineers. Our 2018 season features more than 200, unique, and captivating themes linked to adventure and play, sports and physical fitness, creative and visual arts, and academics. All programs are designed and taught by WT’s faculty and education partners. Camps run one week at a time, with sessions offered from June to August. The North Hills Campus is home to campers ages 3 – rising 5th grade, while the City Campus hosts rising 6th -12th grade Campers. At WT Summer Camp, summer is a time for exploration, laughter, growth, learning, and FUN! Western Area YMCA Summer Day Camps provide a safe and enriching environment for campers to participate in healthy, developmentally-appropriate activities and learning experiences. Come and spend a week immersing yourself in the sights, sounds, sports, and culture of Ireland. Campers will enjoy a wide range of activities from Irish Football to Irish Dance, Irish Language and stories, and Irish Music and the Arts. Summer camps at Bright Horizons take advantage of everything summer has to offer. We develop a fun curriculum that uses surrounding communities and special visitors as an extension of camp. PISA Summer camp is an energizing recreational summer camp for youngsters who have finished kindergarten (must be turning 6 by fall) to twelve years of age. This weekly camp goes from 9:00am – 5:00pm every day. Early drop-off begins at 8:00 am and late pick-up goes until 6:00pm. Each week’s exercises are outlined around an alternate topic.

Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens’ camps provide fun, engaging activities where kids will explore cool science-related topics including nature, animals and ecosystems through a wide range of program options for children from ages 2 to 13. Highlighting ecology, conservation, healthy living and art through hands-on activities personalized to each young explorer, sessions include snacks and take-home crafts. This summer, new Full Day camps are available for a week of incredible scientific discoveries at Phipps’ lush gardens. Spaces are limited. Hatch is all about developing creativity and imagination in young artists! Imagine spending the day making masterpieces, testing out ideas, taking risks, and having a blast with friends and some of Pittsburgh’s most creative instructors! We offer a wide variety of super unique and fun arts-focused camps such as DIY Dollhouses, Nature Studio, Jr. Fashion Designers, Masks and Mosaics, and so much more in weekly half or full day sessions for school age kids ages 5-10. Conveniently located in Point Breeze, we bring the art making and play outside at nearby Mellon Park!
We are also offering a Reggio-inspired mini camp just for children ages 4-6 with tons of opportunities for exploration, play, creating, and trying new tools and materials, all in a nurturing and inspiring environment with artist educators.
And, for older artists ages 9-14, we’re offering weekly half day afternoon camps like Projects for the Coolest Room Ever, Clay Studio, and more!

Our STEAM-based camp will allow campers aged 9-11 to use their creative and logical sides as they learn about the history, health effects, and future of air pollution in our region. Camp includes field trips, use of the latest air quality tech, and guest speakers from a variety of professional backgrounds.
To keep things fun and exciting, we’ve also teamed up with City of Play, to design activities specifically for this camp. By the end of the week campers will have completed various stewardship projects, so that they leave camp knowing that they’ve already done something to improve the air around them.

Luminari’s Summer Camps bring local teens new friends, fun & laughter, lifelong skills, adventures, and much more! All camps are designed for rising 8th to rising 12th graders (currently 7th and 11th grade students). Enrollment is open now and filling up quickly! Early bird tuition available until May 1st, and need based scholarships/financial aid are available.

Summer is an incredible time to row in Pittsburgh. Three Rivers Rowing Association offers several different programs to allow rowers of all skill levels the opportunity to experience summer rowing in Pittsburgh. Be sure to check out the information on our Learn to Row and Introduction to Rowing Camps for new rowers! We have opportunities for children in 4th – 12th grades.

Campers spend a week at a working Television Station and get to make their own video. Campers will get hands on experience writing shooting and editing their own group production and take home final copy of their video. Drop off is at 8 am and Pick up is at Noon -12:30. PCTV provides equipment and instructors. Easy Access and plenty of parking just off the west end bridge on the North Shore.
