October 26th is National Pumpkin Day

Fall is in full effect, which means one thing: pumpkin everything! Today is National Pumpkin Day! I don’t know about you, but I’ve been enjoying all things pumpkin for a couple of weeks already.

In honor of this national holiday, I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite pumpkin things!

Ruzella’s Top 5 Pumpkin Picks

1. Pumpkin Chai from Eat’n Park:

I know, I know, it’s not a pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks. This had to be number one for me though, and not just because it’s a local Pittsburgh company! I’ve had this about 4 times already this month, and it’s SO good. Eat’n Park, if you’re reading this, feel free to send me all the Pumpkin Chai’s, thanks!

2. Pumpkin Cheesecake from Olive Garden:

Look at that picture again. This is basically a must if you’ve never tried it.  The crumb topping is so good! It’s a meal in itself, but so worth it!

3. Pumpkin Patches:

Now that my daughter is a little older, this year has been so much more fun when we visit pumpkin patches! We’ve been to Hozak’s, Yeck’s, and Soergel’s so far this month, and I’m hoping we make the trip to Irons Mill too! Check out Pittsburgh Mom’s Blog’s list of fall activities too! There are so many different pumpkin patches in our area.

4. Libby’s Pumpkin Pie and Pumpkin Roll recipes:

I made my first pumpkin pie last year, and this year I’ve already made two pumpkin rolls. I’ve followed the recipes exactly as listed on the Libby’s canned pumpkin. I’ve gotten rave reviews for both!

5. Pumpkin Carving:

We didn’t get a chance to do this last year, my daughter was too little to really enjoy it, but we plan on doing it this year! My husband and I always try to see who can create the better design! Last year we did put my daughter in a pumpkin though, but as you can see, that was a bit of a Pinterest fail.

So grab your pumpkin chai, slice off a piece of pumpkin roll, and enjoy this national holiday! Please let me know if you try any of the things on my list, and let me know what you think in the comments!
