Our Family Birth Center is staffed with the following experienced professionals who specialize in all areas of pregnancy, labor and delivery:
- 12 OB/GYNs
- 52 registered nurses with specialized training
- 5 lactation consultants
- 10 in-house pediatric hospitalists available 24/7
- 5 surgical technicians
From admission to discharge, you’ll be cared for by the same team in one of our 11 home-like Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum suites. And you and your baby will be together from the moment of delivery to help you grow more confident in caring for your newborn. “Rooming-in helps both moms and babies sleep better and get to know each other,” says Shawndel R. Laughner, Director of Women and Children Services, at St. Clair. “The babies love to be near their mom.”

While having a baby is joyous occasion, sometimes a newborn needs a little extra help before going home. The St. Clair Family Birth center offers a Level II Special Care Nursery with highly trained pediatricians and nurses available 24/7.
