Ingredients
  1. fresh garlic cloves
  2. 1 lb groubd beef
  3. 1 onion
  4. 1 green pepper
  5. 1 tsp salt
  6. 1 tsp pepper
  7. fresh basil or dried basil spice
  8. 3-4 tab. olive oil
  9. 18oz can tomato paste
  10. 28oz can tomato puree
  11. 2 tsp oregano spice
  12. 2-3 tab. sugar
Instructions
  1. Saute minced garlic in 3-4 tab. of olive oil over medium heat in 3-4 quart stainless steel saucepan. Add thinly diced onion and green pepper. Stir. Once soft, add ground beef. Stir well.
  2. Once meat is browned, add and stir in paste, puree, and all remaining spices. Can add up to 8oz. of water to thin to sauce consistency.
  3. Bring to low boil, stirring.
  4. Reduce heat to simmer. Cover.
  5. Continue to stir occasionally.
  6. Cook 2-3 hours.
  7. Remove from heat. Allow to cool. Serve and/or freeze for reheating.
